Turks Dzhandi mausoleum

Hi). Today we have visited Turki Jandi masoleum. Let me tell a little about it😀

Turks Dzhandi ("Turk from Dzhand (region in the lower reaches of the Syr Darya)) or Khoja Dzhandi is a colloquial name for an imam, sheikh, common among the indigenous inhabitants of Bukharafor the imam, Shaikh Ahmad bin Fadla Abu Nasr al-Jandi (10th century), who was a student of the adherents of the famous Bukhara Sufi Abu Bakr al-Kalabadi (d. 990 or 995).

Abu Nasr al-Jandi lived and was buried in Bukhara, in a cemetery located in the southern part of the city, in the middle of city buildings. The block adjacent to the cemetery was named after him, Turki Jandi. The shaykh is considered a saint (wali), and his grave is revered as a shrine of the quarter. Previously, horsemen passing by this mazar dismounted. According to legend, this mazar had the power to throw from the saddle anyone who, out of ignorance or lack of respectfully rode on horseback.
